WE-CST & WE-CSTLF Current Sense Transformers

Würth Elektronik WE-CST and WE-CSTLF Current Sense Transformers utilize inductive coupling on a transformer to convert the input and output currents and voltages based on the turns ratio. The current sense transformer features a primary winding with few turns and a secondary winding with many turns. Current passing through the primary induces a current in the secondary, which can then be converted into a measurable voltage using a burden resistor as the load. Therefore, the output voltage is directly proportional to the input current, making the current sense transformer an effective tool for current measurement.

WE-CST High-Frequency Transformers

Würth Elektronik WE-CST High-Frequency Transformers feature a frequency up to 1MHz, 80V rated voltage, and 500VAC to 750VAC insulation test voltage. An innovative manufacturing process makes these transformers extremely small, with better insulation. The type EE4.4 transformers are offered in nine winding ratios from 1:20 to 1:150. With an insulation voltage of 750VAC, type EE4.4 transformers are suitable for a broad range of high-frequency applications up to 1MHz with currents up to 7A. The Würth type EE5 transformers double the current rating from 10A to 20A and are available in eight ratios from 1:20 to 1:124. Other EE5 features include an insulation test voltage of 500VAC, 7.7mm x 6.9mm x 5.33mm dimensions, and a low profile.
